Olga Shishko is Senior Curator in the Department of Contemporary Art, Cinema and Media Arts at the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts. Having graduated from Moscow State University with a degree in art history and theory, she has gone on to curate exhibitions such as Classic and Contemporary Media Art (Moscow, 2016) and Man as Bird. Images of Journeys (Venice Biennale, 2017). Shishko organizes international festivals and cultural events, most notably the symposium NewMediaLogia (Moscow, 1994), and the Pro&Contra Symposium (Moscow, 2000–12). Since 2000 she has curated the MediaForum Multimedia Art Festival, one of the official programs of the Moscow International Film Festival. After founding the MediaArtLab Center of Culture and Art in 2000, she has served as its director since 2006. Author and editor of numerous publications on contemporary media art issues and the history of media art, Shishko was recently nominated for an Innovation prize by the SCE of Moscow and MEA Manege for her scholarly Art Guide (Artguide Editions, 2015).
